The 2021 Maturity exams begin, the second of the Covid era.

How are the graduates coping with all this?

One out of 5 boys will wear a good luck charm, 1 in 3 is discovering himself "spiritual" and will seek help from above with prayers and florets.

And the only companion they can have at their side in many cases will be a peer, perhaps a classmate.

But many will go to the exam "solo".

Observing the intentions of the 2,500 graduates interviewed by Skuola.net on the eve, nothing seems to be left to chance.

Starting with the inevitable good luck rites.

About 1 in 5 boys, to remove bad omens, has developed a procedure to be adopted on the day of his oral

.

The most common?

Most of them (36%) will wear an accessory that they have always worn well (bracelets, rings, necklaces, etc.);

someone else (13%) will bring a holy card with them to have a more 'important' protection;

still others (12%) will be produced in a series of gestures and sequences already tested in the past.

But there are also those who have selected as their companion - remember that only one person can attend the oral - a friend historically kissed by luck.

Speaking of companions, the same age remains at the top of the ranking:

46% will enter school with a friend

;

a choice behind which, often, one could hide the desire to have a classmate attend the exam, to show him how the commission regulates with the questions.

Otherwise you choose the mother (so for 18%) or brothers, sisters or boyfriends (all coupled to 12%).

Although, it must be said, that only 1 out of 2 will take advantage of the opportunity;

the others will go alone, perhaps so as not to feel too much pressure from their eyes on them.

Spirituality is certainly one of the most popular supports for facing the oral exam with greater serenity:

about a third of the children (34%) will turn to the 'upper floors':

there are those who will go to church, those in a sanctuary, who will participate in pilgrimages, who will make a foil, who will simply pray.

And in order not to leave any stone unturned,

almost everyone will try to impress the commission by focusing on the image

: over 80% have already prepared an ad hoc outfit for the examination, curated and able to give a good impression of self; someone even has lucky clothes, worn on all the occasions that matter.

And 3 out of 10, in view of the oral, will even make a visit to the hairdresser or beautician

. 67% will dress more elegant than usual, 32% will not change their outfit but will avoid slips such as shorts, open shoes and so on. Only 1% declare that they do not pay particular attention to this aspect.

Everyone chooses a different path to approach the exam. On the other hand, what undoubtedly

the high school

students have in common are

the programs for the immediate post-exam

. Everyone, after a year of restrictions and sacrifices, wants to celebrate the moment properly: more than 9 out of 10 will celebrate (or at least are thinking about it) the farewell to school. How? 27% are satisfied with a small party among a few close friends, 18% will have a collective party with the whole class, 23% prefer a trip. But 1 in 3 is aiming for the complete package: party plus travel
