A crescent-shaped lake was recently discovered in the Dubai Al-Qudra Desert.

The unique lake, surrounded by golden sand dunes, was located and photographed at the beginning of the last month of Ramadan (April-May 2021) by Mustafa Aldiasti, a 19-year-old photographer from Dubai, who used a glider.

He first posted the photos on his Instagram account, 100.pixels.

Naturally, now, after the initial publication in mid-April, the media is also arriving.

"A moment of respite from urban chaos"

Similar to the nearby Lake of Love (a pair of lakes in the shape of two hearts merging with each other), the Moon Lake may also be man-made.

And like them, this lake is expected to be especially popular with tourists.

Since the lake was discovered, it has been visited by families of hikers, who gather near the water and hold desert picnics.

A CNN reporter who visited the site noted that "On Friday afternoon, many hikers gather near the lake, in the heart of the desert. From here, Dubai's impressive skyline is not visible at all, and what is left are blessed moments of silence, bird watching and camping in the heart of the dunes. ".

This discovery comes shortly after photos of a pink lake, discovered in Ras al-Khaimah in the UAE, were posted on social media, and went viral.

Scientists believe that the pink color of the water was caused by the presence of red algae in the salt water.

Now all that remains is to wait for the next surprise that will float across the UAE.
