(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, JUN 17 - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has declared Giancarlo Galan's appeal against the Severino law inadmissible, stating that his dismissal from parliamentary mandate following the conviction for corruption in the case of the Mose contracts, cannot be equated to a penalty. The measure, says the ECHR, cannot therefore be taken into consideration if there is a violation of Article 7 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which provides for the non-retroactivity of the application of laws in criminal matters. (HANDLE).
