The independent weekly Politis will temporarily suspend its publication on newsstands and newsagents from Thursday due to financial difficulties, executives of the weekly announced on Wednesday.

It is a choice suffered because of the costs of the distribution of newspapers, which have become exorbitant

The weekly remains for sale, in print and digital formats, on the politis.fr site, and continues to be distributed to subscribers.
On the other hand, special issues, notably the next summer issue on sale on July 23, and special issues “
will remain available for sale
” at newsagents.
Founded in 1988, Politis, which is financed by the subscriptions of its readers, defines itself as "
a humanist journal
" rejecting
"the ideology of the clash of civilizations"
and denouncing "
social injustices
".
