A school in the Czech Republic has been closed for several days because of a poisonous spider.
A student was bitten by the spider in the toilet, said the head of the school in Mlada Boleslav, about 50 kilometers northeast of Prague, on Thursday.
The boy is fine.
According to the city administration, toxicological studies had shown that it was a tarantula.
Spider experts are also of this opinion, it said.
At first it was unclear who brought the crawly animal to elementary and middle school.
Bites from most tarantulas are considered painful, but are usually harmless.
In some cases, however, a serious allergic reaction can occur.
The school building is now to be completely disinfected to drive away the spider.
