As is well known, necessity makes inventive.

A particularly creative response to the contact restrictions of the corona pandemic was honored with the Grimme Online Award in Cologne.

Björn Lengwenus, head of a school in Hamburg-Dulsberg, went on air for six weeks with the evening YouTube show "Dulsberg Late Night" when the school was closed.

From the empty auditorium of the school, he switched on students, sometimes performed a dance, slipped into an Easter bunny costume and thus strengthened cohesion during the pandemic.

Lengwenus had already received the Golden Camera for his initiative.

Now he also received the Grimme Online Award in the "Culture and Entertainment" category.

“It is very important that we get a different perspective on schools.

Because schools just have to be good places, ”he said.

Also TikTok videos excellent

For the first time, a format from the Tiktok video portal has received an award.

Moderator Niklas Kolorz, who presents bulky topics of knowledge in one-minute videos in the network in an understandable manner, won two prizes at the award ceremony: a jury prize in the “Knowledge and Education” category and the audience award.

He reported that the idea came to him in the second corona shutdown.

"I just wanted to create some kind of creative balance." The response was incredible: "After eight days I had the first viral video with 800,000 views, and from then on the channel exploded, that's amazing."

The comedian Enissa Amani won a prize in the »Special« category for her format »The Best Instance«.

The talk show was a reaction to an edition of the WDR talk "The Last Instance", in which, among other things, the question "The end of the gypsy sauce: Is that a necessary step?" Had been discussed and which had received harsh criticism.

Among other things, it was held up to the broadcast that the discussion had been conducted exclusively by white guests.
