Twenty-two years after his debut, Bertrand Burgalat is back with one of his finest albums,

It is, once again, music unlike any other, which gives journalists a cold sweat when it comes to describing it, and that is the greatest compliment one can pay to an artist.
“It touches me a lot,
” he said,
and I can probably see two reasons for this.
First, when I was young, I mainly listened to very labyrinthine albums, which you never go around, and in which you discover additional things with each new listen.
Then, when I make a record, I always step aside from the time.
Not to go into the past, but because I do not subscribe to the fashions of the moment.
My albums are built in a very intuitive way, because I like them to have a beginning, a middle and an end, and I instinctively know which track will go to which place.
This record looks like a full day.
