Ivory Coast: former president Gbagbo returns after 10 years

(ANSA) - ABIDJAN, 17 JUN - Acquitted by the International Criminal Court (CPI) of the accusations of crime against humanity, the former president of the Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo, returned to the African country today in a tense atmosphere, after ten years.


    The plane from Brussels landed at 16.30 local at Abidjan airport, near which the police had dispersed, also using tear gas, a small crowd of his supporters intending to welcome the former president.
