Change on the bench at Virtus Pallacanestro, fresh from the title of Italian champion: it will no longer be Sasha Djordjevic to direct the Black Vs, his place will be taken by Sergio Scariolo.
This was announced by the Bolognese Juventus club, communicating that the new coach will be presented on Tuesday 22 June at the Virtus Segafredo Arena, in the presence of the patron Massimo Zanetti.
For Scariolo it is a return to Bologna, having coached Fortitudo from 1993 to 1996 and having been briefly coach of the V Blacks in the summer of 2003, then expelled from the championship. In his curriculum, a championship in Italy, won with Pesaro, two titles with Real Madrid and Malaga and two Copa del Rey with Baskonia, in addition to triumphs with the Spanish national team: a silver and an Olympic bronze, a world gold, three titles Europeans and a bronze and NBA title won with the Toronto Raptors as assistant coach.
