His Red Bull, with a time of 1'32 '' 872, finished ahead of the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton, with the first trailing by only eight thousandths, with medium tires, and the second by more than two tenths and half.
Fifth and eighth fastest time for Ferraris, with Charles Leclerc setting a time of 1'33''550, while Carlos Sainz stopped at 1'33''698.
Fourth and sixth time, respectively, for the Alpines of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, with Pierre Gasly, seventh with the AlphaTauri, just ahead of Sainz. Excellent ninth time for Kimi Raikkonen with Alfa Romeo, while Sergio Perez, winner of the Baku race, finished only 12 / o on the second Red Bull, also behind Antonio Giovinazzi with Alfa.
