Much has been said about the life of Simone Veil, a key figure in French political life who has become an icon. In an exhibition retracing a fascinating life, the town hall of Paris manages, thanks to unpublished documents and family archives, to create a new encounter with Simone Veil. In spite of the mass of documents exposed, the point constructed by Constance de Gaulmyn and Olivier Rozenberg is not difficult. This rich life refers to great episodes of the twentieth century, the Occupation and the Shoah, Algeria, the Fifth Republic or the construction of Europe. And her figure creates an obvious proximity to the one who contemplates her.
