(ANSA) - BRAZIL, JUN 18 - Brazil yesterday administered the record figure of 2,220,845 vaccines in just 24 hours, reaching the total sum of 84.4 million doses administered since mid-January, when the country of over 212 million inhabitants began the vaccination campaign on a national scale.
The previous record was set on April 23, with 1,744,001 vaccinations given in one day.
So far, 60.3 million Brazilians have been immunized, including 24.08 million with both doses.
Meanwhile, last night at Campinas airport a plane landed with 936 thousand units of the Pfizer vaccine. With this, 14 shipments made to Brazil by the American pharmaceutical company. Since April, Pfizer has completed the delivery of 10.7 million doses, which are part of the 200 million contracts with the government. (HANDLE).
