(ANSA) - TEHRAN, June 19 - In the absence of official data, even partial, the two main candidates for the ultraconservative Ebrahim Raisi recognized his victory in yesterday's presidential elections, congratulating him. This was reported by the Irna and Fars agencies. Even the outgoing president, Hassan Rohani, made his congratulations today to the "new president", adding however that he "cannot name him" because the results have not yet been officially announced, despite several hours after the polls closed. This was reported by the Irna agency. Previously, the two rival candidates had recognized the crime of the ultra-conservative Ebrahim Raisi.

According to reports from Fars, the moderate candidate Abdolnasser Hemmati, in a message to Raisi congratulated him, recognizing him as the eighth president and hoping that "his initiatives on the domestic and international scene bring honor to the Islamic Republic, a development of the economy, calm and welfare for the Iranian people ".

Even the conservative Mohsen Rezai, former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, sent a message congratulating Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and "President-elect Raisi", calling the elections a test and a "golden page" in the history of the Iranian nation.

It is the first time that partial results have been expected so long. According to the election headquarters, the number of voters would be more than 42% recorded last year for the parliamentary elections, but no exact figures have been provided, while both the regime and the opponents who have fought for the boycott claim victory.
