Almost 40% of the travelers who returned to the country by plane and are based in the province of Buenos Aires

violated the quarantine

that forces them to stay at home for at least 10 days.

The restriction is part of the new measures adopted by the health authorities to prevent the entry into Argentina of the so-called Delta variant of Covid-19.

As reported by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health, since last Thursday, when the new control regulation resolved after the last meeting of the Federal Health Council (COFESA) was known,

190 addresses

of people who had returned through Ezeiza from a trip

were verified

from the outside.

Joint operations

were carried out

with the National Migration Directorate in Vicente López, Mar del Plata, La Plata, Quilmes and Villa Gesell.

“In 38% of the visits there was no one at home, violating decree 2225/20 of mandatory quarantine.

They will initiate legal actions

”, they spread in the organization that leads Daniel Gollán.

In addition, the provincial ministry assured that "for the moment

we have not detected the presence of the Delta variant

in patients treated in our system."

This set of mutations that appeared a few months ago in India has a

high contagion capacity

and caused health havoc in that Asian country.

When it arrived in Britain, the Boris Johnson government had to postpone lifting the lockdown for four weeks to

control the spread of this strain

.

Argentina, trying to escape the second wave, decided to reinforce border controls to scare away an eventual entry of this dangerous variant of the coronavirus.

COFESA, which brings together all the provincial ministries of health, proposed "to

strengthen the control of home isolation

, monitoring and PCR at seven days, to lift the isolation of travelers."

The city of Buenos Aires established this mechanism for its citizens: testing at the airport and, if positive, a 10-day confinement in a hotel rented by the Buenos Aires government.

For negative cases, isolation of one week in their residences with

telephone follow-up

.

Once this period has elapsed, another test must be carried out and with the negative the process is concluded.

Those who arrive from abroad and live in the Buenos Aires territory are obliged to

stay in confinement for 10 days

.

They cannot receive visits, make contact with other people and maintain a series of care measures.

The Buenos Aires government

initiated a control plan

and was met with surprises.

In Vicente López they reviewed 108 homes and in 31 no one answered the door, 28% of the homes surveyed.

But in other jurisdictions, the percentage was even higher.

In La Plata, 32% did not comply with the restrictions;

in Quilmes, 33%;

in Villa Gesell, 34%;

in Bahía Blanca it was half and half and in Mar del Plata, 58% were away from home.

All the offenders were framed in the crimes mentioned in DNU 620 of the year 2020.

They will be subjected to processes in the Federal Justice.

The country has reduced international traffic through commercial air navigation.

On June 15, the Government reported that flights from destinations such as Turkey and also from African countries were suspended.

In addition, a policy of

minimum frequencies

is maintained

on flights with Europe to avoid the entry of dangerous variants of coronavirus.

An administrative decision of the Cabinet Headquarters provides that

the tests are in charge of the passengers

who arrive in Argentina and that the mandatory seven-day quarantine continues in force.

Provision 589/2021, published in the Official Gazette, suspended new destinations and maintained the restrictive policy on connections with Europe.

In a statement, the Chief of Staff explained that day that "the objective of the decision is to reduce international traffic and prevent new strains of coronavirus circulating in other countries from reaching Argentina" and with a higher contagion rate than that originating in China.
