The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Saturday

another 495 deaths and 15,631 cases

of coronavirus, so that the country already accumulates 88,742 fatalities and 4,258,394 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

The average of

new daily infections decreased this week by 14% compared to the previous one

, while the number of patients in intensive care units (ICU) began to decline in recent days although it remains at high values.

"On Thursday, June 10, the average number of daily cases nationwide was 25,958 (last 7 days), while on Thursday, June 17, it was 22,321, that is, there was a decrease of 14%," he told the Télam news agency. the teacher and researcher Soledad Retamar.

According to the table prepared by Retamar, if the reason or growth is considered (number of cases in the last 14 days versus the previous 14 days), only the province of Jujuy is "in red" (with this variable greater than 1.2 ).

In the rest of the provinces, when making the same comparison, the cases only grew -and very little- in Chaco and Salta (1.05 and 1.06 respectively) and fell in the other jurisdictions.

However, if the situation is analyzed in relation to the incidence (number of cases accumulated in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants),

all the provinces continue in red

, which means that in the last two weeks they registered more than 150 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.

"The reading of this is that although the cases are decreasing, we still have a very high number of infections throughout the country, so it is essential to continue with the care measures to be able to sustain the decline," Retamar synthesized.

In reference to the jurisdictions that report the most daily cases in recent days in proportion to the total number of new notifications, in the first place the Province of Buenos Aires continues with around 34% of infections;

followed by Córdoba, with 13%;

Santa Fe, with about 10% and the City of Buenos Aires, with 7%.

Regarding the Buenos Aires parties that make up the AMBA, Retamar described that when analyzing by date of onset of symptoms until June 9 (which would be a date with more or less consolidated data),

daily cases fell by 19%

.

"The average number of daily cases as of June 2 was 6,180 and a week later they had dropped to 5,010," he explained.

In relation to the number of deaths from coronavirus, in the last week there was also a slight decrease compared to the previous one, since while on June 10 the average daily deaths (considering the last 7 days) was 582 and 17 June was 551, which

represents a decrease of just 5%.
