In a serious traffic accident in the US state of Alabama, ten people were killed, including nine children and adolescents, according to a media report.

The broadcaster "CNN" reported on Sunday, citing forensic medicine in the Butler district, that eight children between the ages of four and 17 had died in a vehicle in a girls' home.

A nine-month-old girl and her 29-year-old father were killed in the second accident vehicle.

The accident occurred on Saturday in stormy weather on the I-65 motorway.

According to the police, the highway was temporarily closed.

The storm depression "Claudette" may be partly responsible for the accident on Saturday near Greenville, in which more than 15 vehicles were involved, said the coroner.
