A 70-year-old man was found two days after his disappearance in a forest near the village of Pogreß in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.
Shortly before, rescue workers had unsuccessfully canceled a more than eight-hour search.
As the police in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania announced, the man was reported missing in Dümmer on Friday.
Dümmer is about 14 kilometers away from the later site.
The emergency services first combed the Groß Brütz area on Sunday.
From 11.30 a.m. to 8 p.m., numerous citizens and police officers including helicopters, search dogs and a rescue dog squadron as well as a drone squadron of the German Red Cross searched for the 70-year-old - without success.
Half an hour after the search was broken off, the police received a call: Calls for help had been heard from a forest near Pogreß.
The emergency services found the missing person in the thick undergrowth.
The man was taken to hospital, severely dehydrated.
