Today, at the Faculty of Arts at Al-Furat University in Deir ez-Zor, the work of the first international conference on the Arabic language, which is held by Al-Furat University, under the title “The Arabic Language and the Challenges of the Age”, was launched and will last for two days.
The President of Al-Furat University, Dr. Taha Al-Khalifa, said in a statement to SANA reporter that this conference is the first of its kind and is held within the framework of keenness on the Arabic language and its development, pointing out that the university has created all the conditions for the success of the conference, which reflects positively the level of Al-Furat University and raises its scientific and cultural balance.
In turn, the Secretary General of the Conference, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Deir ez-Zor, Dr. Muhammad Al-Masoud, explained that the conference is being held with the participation of 32 researchers from outside the university, including 12 researchers from outside Syria who participate in the online conference, and they are researchers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Uruguay, the United States of America and Japan.
Al-Masoud indicated that the conference includes four sessions, two sessions each day, which includes five axes: the Arabic language and its ability to keep pace with development, “Social media and its impact on the Arabic language”, “The youth’s abandonment of the Arabic language to foreign languages” Arabic language curricula and methods of teaching between reality and ambition. Nationalism in order to protect the Arabic language.
The head of the Arabic language department at Al-Baath University, Dr. Issam Koussi, expressed his happiness to participate in this conference, which is concerned with preserving the Arabic language, especially as it is exposed to many risks.
The researcher, Dr. Munif Ahmed Hamidush, indicated that the conference is a message of love for the Arabic language and an initial launch initiated by Al-Furat University to achieve a great goal, which is to correct and correct what we hear of errors in our language and distortion of its beauty.
