This is the first shipment under the new agreement signed by the Government to purchase 6 million Chinese vaccines (2 million in June and 4 million in July).

The previous contract - already completed - had been for 4 million.

Flight AR1065 arrived minutes before 19:00. Now, between Tuesday and Wednesday, another plane from the flag line and a commercial one from

Qatar Airways

"This shipment is important to continue climbing in the vaccination plan, the largest campaign in our history. It has been escalating with great speed, with a distribution that is done in a short time and that supplies the vaccination centers throughout the territory." , said Santiago Cafiero, head of the national Cabinet, from the Ezeiza airport.

"With these flights,

we carried out 26 operations and exceeded 15 million transported doses

," said the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas,

Pablo Ceriani

.

As Ceriani pointed out, "we continue to nurture the vaccination campaign and hope to be able to get out of this unprecedented health crisis soon. We are proud to be able to play such an important role when the country needs it most."

Logistics

The Sinopharm vaccine is transported at

a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees above zero

, in containers called "envirotainers" with active temperature control and in three-dose vials.

In addition, this type of cargo, by strict indication of the laboratory, can only be transferred in the hold of the aircraft.

Prior to this Monday, Aerolineas Argentinas had completed a total of five flights to the People's Republic of China, in which 3,659,200 vaccines produced by the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp. had been transferred.

In addition,

so far 19 flights have been made to Moscow

, in which 9,473,290 doses were transported, so that in 24 operations carried out a total of 13,132,490 doses were brought.

Meanwhile,

for this week it is also expected that new flights to Moscow will be made

in search of shipments of the Sputnik V vaccine. "We are waiting for confirmation of how many doses we are going to receive of component 1 and 2 this week from Russia," the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.

Until this morning, Argentina had 20,615,390 doses distributed among the 24 jurisdictions, of which 17,837,121 have already been applied, according to data from the Public Vaccination Monitor.
