Fatal disappearance

Faced with the football match of the Blues on TF1, M6 made the curious choice to sacrifice the entirety of "The Cry", a new mini-series in four parts. So far only available on the Salto platform, this intimate drama deserves attention. It all starts with a sequence where a young woman is overwhelmed by a horde of journalists asking her: “Are you guilty? But what crime is it about? It is the mystery that holds in suspense throughout this fiction, which unfolds the story of Joanna and Alistair, parents of a baby. The plot sails between a lawsuit and the couple's trip, some time before, from Scotland to Australia, where they were traveling in order to sort out family issues.
On the last part of the journey of this trip, after a nightmarish flight in which the child has not stopped crying, the family makes a stop on the road between Melbourne and the coast. During this break, the boy is kidnapped. A destructive drama that brings to light pre-existing flaws in the lives of both parents. This heartbreaking psychological thriller is served by two formidable performers: Jenna Coleman and Ewen Leslie. The actress, seen in the series "Doctor Who", "Victoria" and "the Serpent", here embodies a mother in difficulty having trouble managing her new life as a mother. Obviously suffering from postpartum depression, Joanna is heartbreaking, while raising doubts in the viewer: has she taken on her child? In front of her,the Australian actor (seen in "Top Of The Lake") expresses all the paradoxes of a father very busy with his professional life and who has trouble helping his partner in distress.

Inspired by real events, “All the Money in the World” traces the race against time led by Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg after the kidnapping of a billionaire's grandson in 1973 in Rome.

. Initially, "All the money in the world" was a routine operation for Ridley Scott, who is involved here in a fairly classic story: that, adapted from a real news item, of the kidnapping in Rome in 1973 , by Paul Getty, 17, grandson of J. Paul Getty, the richest man in the world. Problem: the old man, a monster of selfishness who thinks only of money, refuses to pay the ransom!
To tell this incredible plot, Ridley Scott did not force his talent too much: a very linear story, a scarcely original staging, even if the characters, all with bewildering behavior, are a pleasure to follow on the screen, Romain Duris, for example, proving breathtaking as an Italian kidnapper… But it was the controversy before its release that caused a lot of talk about the film: several accusations of sexual assault formulated against Kevin Spacey, who played the role of the billionaire.
Neither one nor two, Ridley Scott, completely returned all the scenes involving Spacey, replacing him with Christopher Plummer!

Jason Statham is the hero of the highly effective detective film "The British Heist".

Roger Donaldson is what in Hollywood is called a "good doer".
Able to direct any film ordered from him, doing quite well.
We owe him "Unique Sense", with Kevin Costner, "the Bounty" with Mel Gibson, "The November Man", among others.
In 2008, Roger Donaldson was at the helm of “English Heist”, a thriller inspired by a true story.
Terry, a small London thug specializing in car thefts, is offered to participate in the robbery of a prestigious bank, which he does not know contains compromising secrets.
Above all, he sees it as the chance of his life.
Filmed in a classic way, but with a well-crafted script and nervous action sequences, this thriller also owes a lot to the presence of actor Jason Statham.
This pure British, who can be appreciated at the moment at the cinema in "An Angry Man", has slaughter and is very believable in the skin of Terry, the thug thief.

. Violet (Piper Perabo), who dreams of being a singer, leaves the house where she lives with her father to conquer New York. She lands a job at Coyote Ugly, a bar where waitresses dance on the counter and lead customers to baguettes. Quickly, the young woman becomes a star of the place ... If the film does not shine by the originality of its scenario, it does however release a sympathetic energy supported by a thunderous music which aligns, among others, INXS, Blondie, Joe Strummer, Billy Idol, Elvis Presley and the Stray Cats.
One of the songs from the soundtrack, "Can't Fight The Moonlight", performed by LeAnn Rimes, will also make a worldwide hit.
Like the film (more than 600,000 admissions in France), which has since become cult, and whose rumor of a sequel regularly surfaces.
As for Piper Perabo, she will unfortunately not really know how to capitalize on this unexpected success, pursuing a quiet career in cinema and television, without ever finding such a demonstrative role.
