American actor Ray MacDonnell has died at his home in Chappaqua, New York, at the age of 93.
The US broadcaster Michael Fairman TV reports.
MacDonnell did not excite in the big blockbusters, but played himself in the role of Dr.
Joe Martin in the ABC soap opera "All My Children" for over four decades in the hearts of the audience.
"All my Children" is an American soap opera that premiered on January 5, 1970 and was shown on American television until 2011 - a total of over 10,000 episodes were made, many of which featured MacDonnell.
He was a long-haul, not short-haul actor.
MacDonnell was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in March 1928.
In 2004 he and his "All My Children" co-actress Ruth Warrick received a Daytime Emmy Award for life's work.
He leaves three children.
His daughter told the broadcaster that "there will be a private memorial service with close relatives and family."
