The Three Lions started with a 1-0 victory over Croatia, followed by a 0-0 draw against Scotland and then a 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic. Solid, the English are difficult to maneuver. Bad luck for them, they face the dreaded third of Pool F: Germany, claiming the final victory. Despite their initial defeat against France (0-1), the Germans were able to raise the bar to win brilliantly against Portugal (4-2). For their third and last group match, the Mannschaft had some scares, having been led twice by Hungary. While they were eliminated, the Germans finally managed to come back to the score (2-2),and qualify by being among the best third.
