A 15-year-old was abducted, abused and detained for several days by a gang in Ingolstadt, probably because of drug dealing.
The background to the April case has been at least partially cleared up, as the police have now announced.
Accordingly, the young person was abducted in mid-April.
A few days later, police officers took him into custody.
The criminal police continued to investigate and, according to their own statements, identified five suspects for the alleged hostage-taking.
Four suspects, who are said to be between 17 and 47 years old, were arrested in Ingolstadt, it said.
Arrest warrants were issued against all four, but two of them were suspended subject to conditions.
Suspect fled to Spain
According to the police, however, the fifth person involved is the main suspect.
The 21-year-old Ingolstadt is said to have gone to Spain after the fact.
He was arrested on June 17 with the help of the Spanish police in Marbella, it said.
Last Monday he was extradited to Germany.
He is also now in custody.
The investigation into the background of the crime continues.
