That's what I do on OSS 117. I hijack Sean Connery in the first, Paul Newman in the second.
There, it is the same thing.
I start from a real character.
I take his verticality and his small voice.
I amuse myself by picking up his pockets.
It is neither him nor me but a kind of hybrid.
The hybrid works quite well.
