In the proceedings on suspicion of perversion of the law against a district judge who overturned the corona rules at two Weimar schools in a questionable decision, there were again searches.
In Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Bavaria, investigators searched a total of 14 objects, said the public prosecutor in Erfurt.
These are said to have been the judge's private and office rooms as well as the office and home addresses of a total of eight witnesses.
The aim was "to ensure evidence-relevant communication between the accused and the witnesses," it said.
There is no suspicion of crime against the witnesses.
The family judge working at the Weimar District Court ordered a suspension of the mask requirement and other protective measures at two schools at the beginning of April, referring to an alleged risk to the child's welfare, referring to a passage in the civil code (Az .: 9 F 148/21).
Criticism of the judge
In addition to the justification, lawyers had also questioned the jurisdiction of the judge.
The case of the two students allegedly impaired by the masks was also apparently deliberately leaked to the judge.
In April the public prosecutor's office in Erfurt opened proceedings against the judge.
There is a suspicion that he was guilty of bending the law, it said.
The Weimar Administrative Court later declared the mask requirement in Thuringian schools to be legal.
The judges pointed out that they regard the Weimar decision as "obviously illegal".
Family courts are not empowered to issue orders to authorities.
There is no legal basis for this.
According to the public prosecutor's office, a search warrant ordered by the Erfurt district court had already been carried out at the end of April.
The evidence sought was only partially found.
The Erfurt Regional Court has since rejected a complaint by the accused against the search warrant that was initially issued as unfounded.
