A man was sentenced to seven years in prison for several hammer blows on the head of a parcel carrier, according to a judgment by the Potsdam district court.
The court convicted the 36-year-old of attempted murder, said a spokesman (Az. 21 Ks 2 / 21,486 Js 44087/20).
The chamber is convinced that the man not only wanted to injure the messenger, but also to kill him.
The verdict is not yet legally binding.
The public prosecutor's office and accessory prosecution had demanded an eleven year prison sentence, the defense had requested two years probation.
The man is said to have attacked the messenger in Brandenburg an der Havel in October 2020 when he was traveling with a stroller himself.
According to the court, he was annoyed about the delivery man because he blocked his way with the vehicle.
