The drug change that could bring Britney Spears back to life

True, the tumultuous pop star does suffer from bipolar disorder, but that's not an excuse to imprison her.

In fact, if someone thought of her well-being - her situation could be temporary and transient.

Britney Spears fans out of court in Los Angeles (Reuters)

The Los Angeles Supreme Court last night (Thursday) rejected singer Britney Spears' request, ruling that her father James will continue to be her guardian and hold rights to her assets and decisions related to her career.

Although the official petition process for her new application to the court has not yet been completed, her chilling testimony last week shocked me as a specialist psychiatrist.

For a full 23 minutes, Spears pleaded for her life and liberty.

Cried for help and asked to be one of the people - free.

"I have not spoken until now because I was ashamed," she said, "I broadcast on social media and in front of the cameras that everything is fine and my life is perfect. The truth is that I am a prisoner.

Spears added in her testimony that she is receiving forced psychiatric medication, needs to get approval to buy basic products at the supermarket and that a contraceptive device has been installed in her womb and she is barred from marrying and bringing up more children without a guardian’s approval.

"Dozens of people enjoy my many millions, and there is not a word on the subject. My father decides exclusively on every aspect of my life. I speak to you from prison."

Begged for her life.

Britney is one of the most successful singers in the history of American pop for generations. The mythical Disney girl, the timeless ex of Justin Timberlake, the ultimate blonde who grew up to be an adored pop princess and mother of two sons. The one whose clips have become part of a collective American cultural mosaic. A tremendous cash machine with a bank account whose current current account balance is $ 60 million. All of this and more are the result of tremendous talent, erupting charisma and the personality of a born star.

There is no dramatic telenovela like the 2007 testimonial films that started the whole affair, about Britney entering an acute psychotic state, videos that were watched while the court was determining absolute guardianship.

A world star in her position does not receive a moment of privacy and grace in the world media, and so it was in this case.

The media has no mercy and ratings is the name of the game, so it is allowed to release videos of her in terrible mental distress, but one that is temporary and transient in proper treatment.

Britney was documented to the world with cruel cameras when she shaved her head hair, spoke irrelevantly and behaved with uncontrollable violence accompanied by hyperactivity, poor judgment and impulsivity.

Other treatment will lead to recovery

Spears apparently suffers from a chronic mental illness, a kind of variant of bipolar disorder - bipolar disorder (manic depression). This is characterized by waves of turbulent manic-psychotic flare-ups for at least a week in a row. So reality and imagination come together in a jumble, and man has a hard time separating them. This flare-up is accompanied by overactivity, lack of sleep, waste of money, sometimes increased sexual activity, restlessness, speaking fluently and loudly while jumping from subject to subject with and without context, there may also be false thoughts of growing up. It is a temporary and transient state of lack of judgment and insight, uncontrollable behavior and at times dangerous to man and his environment. And yet it is transient.

With proper psychiatric treatment, careful monitoring and patience bring the sufferer to a complete withdrawal.

That is, for excellent recovery and functioning on all levels.

Famous people in the world and in Israel are sick with the disease and there is no doubt that artists are more prone to disaster.

Vivian Lee from "Gone with the Wind," the immortal painter Van Gogh, Virginia Woolf, Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kurt Cobain, Sheind O'Connor, Kenya West and sure there are a few more names left unknown .

Your faithful servant treats in Israel the most well-known and successful people in their field who make sure to take regular (prophylactic) preventive treatment for recurrence of seizures, usually with a regular monthly injection in the shoulder.

A shot that has no side effects and allows them to reach professional and interpersonal peaks, while establishing a home and family, and especially self-fulfillment of a maximum quality of life that matches their great talent.

Another huge star suffering from bipolar disorder.

Spears' situation in which the court gives permanent guardianship to a person who is in a temporary and transient mental state is on the very rare (very) side. This is not the same as terminal Alzheimer's dementia, brain damage or congenital mental retardation. What’s more, Britney will be positioned and listened to. For the past 13 years she has performed on a tour in Las Vegas that has brought in $ 300,000 every night to the Guardian's box office. $ 1 million in net profit each week to an account signed by her father alone.

In her shocking and heartbreaking testimony, she says that she was forced to take lithium at the time - a drug that stabilizes an old mood with lots of side effects. It is imperative for a doctor to look into the eyes of his patient and say: I am tailoring the best quality treatment that currently exists in the world for you, the most up-to-date. Such that if you were my child I would give it to him without hesitation. Lithium is a drug that requires careful monitoring of its levels in blood tests. High levels can cause poisoning to death. It should not be taken during pregnancy, for example, and over 80 percent of those who take the drug suffer from side effects, the most common of which include weight gain, tremors in the fingers, acne and rash, spontaneity, distress, prolonged reaction time and memory impairment, kidney and urinary incontinence, decreased glandular activity. The shutter and more.

As an experienced physician I would not treat a world star whose appearance is part of her profession and her self-confidence in lithium.

Psychiatrists have at our disposal a wide range of much more advanced and quality preparations with fewer side effects.

Brittany is right when she asks what her guardian father expects to appear every evening in front of halls full of such side effects.

The treatment should be tailored to the person and not the person to the drug.

In coercive treatment and when there are such side effects, the response to the drug treatment is nil and then the sufferer enters the offensive wave again and the result - the guardianship is prolonged and lasts.

An unending circle with a screaming victim.

Release Brittany.

But did more than that.

Immediately replace her psychiatrist so she can stabilize mentally and break free from the curse of guardianship.
