"Well there is a decision because the judicial authorities have taken more than a year and a half to decide. I am very sad for the people involved."
Thus the cardinal secretary of state Pietro Parolin, from Strasbourg, commented on the indictments in the Vatican for the funds of the Secretariat of State.
"I do not comment on the rest because I have not yet read the documents made public yesterday - he told reporters -. We must wait for the trial and hope it will bring truth. We hope it will be short, because many people have suffered".
"If they ask me to testify at the trial, I will," added the cardinal.
"I believe that from an administrative point of view - Cardinal Parolin replied to reporters -, the issue at the center of the process has been resolved, after many decisions taken by the Pope on the control of the Holy See's finances".
