The stolen Ferrari quickly reappeared

Two years after the spectacular theft of a Ferrari costing more than two million euros, the alleged thief was extradited to the German authorities.
The Düsseldorf public prosecutor reported.
The man had been handed over to the authorities in Frankfurt am Main and is now in custody in Düsseldorf prison.
The well-known 45-year-old Frenchman first had to serve a prison sentence in France for another offense.
Prosecutor Laura Hollmann said that the suspect will shortly be charged with the theft in Neuss near Düsseldorf.
The Ferrari had already been seized the day after the crime in Grevenbroich on the Lower Rhine.
Witnesses had seen the rare red sports car driven into a garage there.

Driven away when changing drivers
Traces of the thief could be secured in the car - including fingerprints.
In addition, the alleged perpetrator was photographed shortly before the test drive at a Düsseldorf classic car dealership.
The widespread international coverage of the spectacular coup led to information from France, where a newspaper reader gave the tip.
In May 2019, the suspect presented himself as a prospective buyer at a classic car dealership in Düsseldorf.
When he was allowed to drive the car during the test drive in neighboring Neuss, he drove away in the 400-hp vehicle when changing drivers and left the perplexed seller standing on the side of the road.
The rare Ferrari 288 GTO, built in 1985, was offered by the classic car dealer for more than two million euros.
According to the sales advertisement, the first owner was ex-Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine.
