"The Good, the Bart and the Loki" on Disney +: when the Simpsons meet the Marvel

2021-07-07T21:03:30.649Z

The Disney + platform posted online this Wednesday a new short film bringing together the cult series of The Simpsons and the superheroes of the univ

Loki, a character straight out of Marvel Studios and half-brother of the god of thunder Thor, is definitely successful.

After a series dedicated to his misadventures, the episodes of which are available every Wednesday on Disney +, the platform is broadcasting this Wednesday an exceptional short film by The Simpsons entitled "The Good, the Bart and the Loki".

An unexpected encounter between two major pop culture franchises that will make Marvel fans smile.

Banished from the kingdom of Asgard by Odin, Loki must go into exile in Springfield where he meets the Simpsons.

If he quickly becomes friends with Bart, the god of mischief quickly finds himself confronted with Lisa who puts on the costume of Thor and the other inhabitants of the city, transformed into Avengers.

Little Ralph Wiggum becomes the Hulk while bartender Moe is in Vision and alcoholic Barney Gumble in Iron Man.

Small detail that is important: Tom Hiddleston, interpreter of Loki, lends his voice to this new animated version.

A nice communication coup

Lady Gaga, Donald Trump, Brad Pitt: the writers of The Simpsons regularly have fun portraying celebrities in their episodes. The Russo brothers, to whom we owe in particular "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019), had even made an appearance in one of them in 2019.

A few months ago, a first Simpsons short film broadcast on Disney +, had already explored another franchise.

In the episode, "The Force Awakens After Nap," Maggie Simpson encountered the Star Wars heroes in the middle of a nursery as she sought to get her pacifier.

A nice communication coup for the series and films produced by Disney and repeated with this second parody short film.

Its writers do not fail to make fun of it in the course of a shot.

Too bad this episode, full of references and self-mockery, but far too short, leaves us unsatisfied.

EDITOR'S RATING: 3/5
