Newcomers to vaccination centers.
Several professionals are now authorized to perform injections against Covid-19, according to a decree published this Thursday in the Official Journal.
These are, in particular, opticians, hearing aid professionals, dieticians, psychomotor therapists, or even dental assistants.

All these new actors will however have to act "under the responsibility of a doctor who can intervene at any time and on condition" and after having "followed specific training in the performance of this act".
This was already the case, in particular, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, or even ambulance attendants.
Since January, this list had been gradually enriched.
On March 26, the Authorized Health Officer had, for example, recommended that medical students be allowed to be vaccinated.
Rapid serological test
This new and large expansion could in particular make it possible, in the coming weeks, to compensate for the departures on leave of health professionals authorized to vaccinate from the very beginning, such as doctors.
And, perhaps, to bring about an increase in the rate of first-time injections, which went from 400,000 to 160,000 in one month.
The number of first injection appointments has already started to rise again, from 10 to 40% per week depending on the day.

The decree published this Thursday also formalizes the fact that a rapid serological test can be carried out, just before the first injection, for people who have not been tested positive during the past year. This allows those who are positive (and who have therefore been infected without necessarily knowing it) to receive only one injection to be fully vaccinated.
