Story in a minute: A girl who woke up from a coma tells how it feels (Walla! NEWS evening)

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be in a coma? Coma (or floor) is defined as "a state of unconsciousness lasting more than six hours during which the person can not be awakened" and can be caused, among other things, by a disease in the nervous system, stroke, lack of oxygen, head injury and even a drop in body temperature, or alcohol poisoning Hard.

While the experience of different people who have been in a coma is different, the appearance is the same - the person's eyes in the coma will be closed and they will not respond to his environment. Although a person in a coma may appear awake, he is unable to feel, speak, hear or move voluntarily. Rarely will he respond or be able to communicate or perform basic reflexes, such as coughing, and he may respond to sounds or pain. Some people in a coma will be able to breathe without help, but in more severe cases they may need help with a ventilator. The person in a coma can sometimes gradually return to becoming more aware of his environment after a few weeks.

We often see in movies and TV series that a state of coma equates to a state similar to a dream. But how does it really feel? There are a number of people who came out of a coma and helped shed light on the situation and what they experienced in it.

The indy100 site featured the story of a Reddit user, @iwillcorrectyou, who shared a post in which he revealed how his coma experience was not as described in popular culture: "I was actually technically dead for more than an hour. People often ask me if I heard my family talk to me or if I dreamed. The answer is 'no'. I have a huge hole in my memory that starts about two weeks before coma until a week after 'awakening'. I say awake in quotes because I would wake up, ask some semi-coherent questions, fall back into coma and then wake up again and ask the exact same questions "In the same order. I repeated it six or seven times. The coma itself was not even black or dark. It just does not exist. I remember having a hard time believing we were actually in mid-October when the last day I remembered was the end of September," he said.

What do they hear and what do they remember?

One of the most common questions on the subject is whether a person in a coma can hear you.

One woman who was in a coma revealed her answer in a conversation with Distractify: "I could hear every word ... I heard my husband sing 'if you are happy and you know it and your wife will not let you show it ...' and it haunted me."

She said she learned an important lesson from her coma: "Be nice to people, because you can never know who is listening and why."

Journalist Jeffrey Leanne, who was also in a coma, shared in a conversation with The Independent the fact that he could "hear every word." He said: "I could also feel my dear wife's hand holding my hand, our fingers crossed. I could hear her telling me that the children were fine and that their schools and the people in my office supported her. I could not understand what she was doing in the strange world I was in at the time, but her presence was It's very reassuring. "

Another question that comes up a lot is whether a person who has gone through a coma remembers how it happened. Several people who were on the floor shared their experience on Reddit and @heyrainyday revealed that he did not remember it: "I do not remember being in a coma or waking up from a coma. I lost several years of pre-coma memories, and my brain didn't really start 'storing' information again until about. "6 weeks after I went out to sleep."

Another surfer who was in a coma added: "I woke up with zero memory of why I was there or what was said while I was out. This is the scariest situation I have been in, but I can not say I remember it. I woke up with my mom and dad with me in the hospital with me and my whole body bandaged. "And it was scary for me. I had no idea I was in a coma."
