The Euro will definitely not have made France happy.
The prefecture of the Vosges announced on Wednesday evening the detection of an outbreak of nine positive cases for the Delta variant of Covid-19.
These nine cases correspond to as many football fans returning from Hungary, where they attended a Portugal match at Euro football, a local elected official said on Thursday.
"A cluster with the Indian variant was detected among the inhabitants of the Le Thillot and Fresse-sur-Moselle sector, with nine positive cases already identified", the prefecture indicated in a press release Wednesday evening.

“From there they came back and it happened a week later.
We have six confirmed positive cases in the town of Thillot and three confirmed cases in Fresse-sur-Moselle.
But it's the same family, ”says the city councilor.
When questioned, the prefecture did not confirm the link between the contamination and this trip to Hungary.
Screening operation among residents
Asked, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Grand-Est did not respond immediately.
The ARS and the prefecture of the Vosges have announced the implementation of free screening and vaccination operations without an appointment in order to prevent the spread of the variant in the department.
The Puskas Arena, a stadium in the Hungarian capital, is the only venue in the competition with a 100% gauge.
Wearing a mask was optional.
Portugal faced France there on June 23 (2-2).
