Six weeks without constant tests and digital learning - the students are happy about that. But what happens when they return to class after the holiday season?
Federal Minister of Education Anja Karliczek has spoken out in favor of mandatory classroom attendance after the holidays, despite Corona.
"In my opinion, the requirement to be present should apply again as a rule," said the CDU politician of the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung".
"Exceptions for previously ill and particularly vulnerable children and adolescents must be possible."
There will be framework conditions under which safe teaching can be guaranteed.
In her opinion, all students should be tested once before school starts after the holidays.
»After that there must be regular tests, the frequency depending on the infection process.
We should afford this as the first and most important measure in the event of increasing incidences, «says Karliczek.
Once again, she did not rule out the possibility of corona-related school closings again.
“You can never guarantee or exclude anything in a situation like a pandemic.
We do not know which variants are still to come.
But all those responsible can at least prepare in a much more targeted manner «.

After the summer vacation: classroom lessons yes, but vaccination progress uncertain
She was "confident that the schools can basically be kept open this autumn."
“We now have a completely different starting position after the holidays.
We have an increasing vaccination rate, a good test structure, «said the Minister of Education.
Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has also pleaded for a nationwide return to face-to-face teaching.
"The progress made in the vaccination campaign makes me optimistic that normal school lessons will be possible," Scholz told the editorial network Germany (RND).
After a year and a half, it is high time to return to normal school life.
The finance minister went on to say that masks and rigorous testing would continue to play a role as a precautionary measure.
