The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Friday another
244 deaths and 14,518 new cases
of coronavirus.
In this way, Argentina counts 98,148 fatalities and 4,627,537 infections since the start of the pandemic.
Regarding the vaccination plan, 27,466,544 doses were distributed throughout the national territory, of which
24,048,381 were applied
.
In this context, 19,162,483 people (41% of the population) received at least one dose, while 4,885,898 (10.6% of the country) completed the immunization schedule.
According to data provided by the health portfolio, the average number of
daily infections fell 26%
in June compared to May, while the occupancy of intensive care beds
decreased 15
percentage
points
in the last month.
Argentina is eighth in the world ranking of infections.

While in June an average of 19,588 cases per day of Covid-19 were registered in Argentina, in May that figure had been 26,498.
Meanwhile, the average occupancy of beds in Intensive Care Units (ICU) went from 79.1% on June 8, to 64.3% yesterday, according to the latest official report on the epidemiological situation.
In the last week, a drop in ICU admissions was also reported, which went from 7,839 people admitted a month ago to 5,443 yesterday, which marked a
30% decrease
.
The Health report reported a decrease in the number of deaths from coronavirus since epidemiological week 22 and indicated that
the fatality from the disease is currently 2.1%
, below the rate of last year in all age groups.
With regard to confirmed cases by epidemiological week of onset of symptoms, it is observed that the distribution in the last week is 37% in the central region without the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), 27% in AMBA, 13% in NOA (northwest), 11% in NEA (northeast), 6% in Cuyo and 5% in the South region.
The number of patients admitted to the ICU fell sharply in June.
If the variation in confirmed cases between the last two weeks is analyzed, there is a decrease in all regions, which in the center -without considering the AMBA- was 20.99%, in AMBA 29.31%, in NOA of 10.9%, in NEA of 12.54%, in Cuyo of 22.27% and in the South region of 21%.
On the other hand, it was indicated that the distribution of confirmed cases according to sex and age is maintained: 49.3% are male and 50.7% female. Furthermore, 91.7% of the patients who had Covid-19 recovered.
