Contamination has been on the rise in France in recent days, according to Public Health France: more than one in two cases of Covid-19 on French territory is a suspicion of the Delta variant.
But for the moment, the spread of this much more contagious variant has not yet been felt in hospitals which, in a contrary movement, welcome fewer and fewer patients with Covid-19.
This Friday, 7,183 people were hospitalized for an infection linked to the coronavirus, while they were 7,275 the day before, according to Public Health France.

Among them, 947 patients, the most seriously affected, are treated in critical care services.
They were 953 this Friday and 1123 a week ago.
Nine new patients have been admitted in the last 24 hours compared to 30 Friday and 26 Thursday
Nineteen new deaths linked to Covid-19 are to be deplored in the past 24 hours.
Since the start of the epidemic in France, at least 84,848 Covid-19 patients have died in hospital.
However, the situation could deteriorate in the coming weeks.

SPF also notes a "marked increase in the incidence rate, particularly among 15/44 year olds" and more than one in two positive cases in France is a suspicion of a Delta variant.
