After the demands of Organized Parents and entities that group the schools, the Buenos Aires Government enabled the possibility of
extending the hours of face-to-face classes
, limited until now to four hours a day.
The increase in contact hours will begin this Monday, July 12 and will be implemented progressively.
This was reported by the General Directorate of Schools, through a circular that it sent to all public and private establishments in the jurisdiction.
In addition, as of Monday,
other educational modalities that have been operating in virtual format for almost a year and a half
will once again have activities with the presence of students and teachers
.
Classrooms are reopened in Vocational Training centers, in Physical Education Centers (CEF), in open
-air spaces or in well-ventilated closed spaces
.
Also in the institutes of Education for Young People, Adults and Older Adults and Art Education.
The flexibility in the educational field of the Province
covers the districts that are in phases 3, 4 and 5
.
Those in the category of "epidemiological alarm" are excluded according to the traffic light that is applied in the district governed by Axel Kicillof and that is made from statistical variables of the covid-19 pandemic.
According to the latest map released by the Province, in the territory there are 98 municipalities in phase 3 and 4 that will be able to extend the hours of classes in schools and colleges.
They cover
all the towns of Greater Buenos Aires
and the most important inland, such as Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca, Junín, Tandil and Olavarría.
On the other hand, there are still 37 districts where presence could not be resumed since it was suspended on April 19 to prevent the impact of the so-called "second wave" of infections.
Kicillof announced the return to classes in the suburbs on June 10.
From then on, the entities that group the private schools began to demand that they allow them to
extend the hours
.
Because in double-shift establishments only a maximum of four hours a day were allowed with the presence of students, and the activity was completed virtually.
There were also orders from
"autoconvocados"
sectors
.
Parents who organized protests, claims and requests for the return to school and who now demanded permits to extend that time limit.
