(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 10 JUL - "The work of President Pahor has contributed so that on 13 July 2020 it marks a step change in a path of friendship and collaboration between two communities, two nations, two countries, which we must all strive to consolidate. With the president Mattarella you have placed Triest in the center, and today the most tangible sign of that ordinary event of a year ago, appears to be the transfer of ownership of the Narodni dom building, which after a tiring bureaucratic process should be at the final stages ". This was said by Senator Tatjana Rojc, exponent of the Slovenian community in Italy, in her greeting address to the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, on a visit to the town of Santa Croce (Trieste) in the thirty years of Slovenian independence.
The senator recalled that "the celebrations are intertwined with a profound crisis that has shaken the whole Western world and beyond. We were not prepared for this experience and in many we have cultivated the hope that this devastating test could help to rediscover a deep connection with the priorities that define the our values ".
"We are a community that recognizes itself in the broad breath-spiritual and in the plural thought. I hope - concluded Rojc - that we will be able to maintain this openness towards the different realities that surround us". (HANDLE).
