Among the measures announced "300 million additional euros" which will be invested to deal with the crisis, a return to school 100% face-to-face and the maintenance of the U ticket initiative at 1 euro.

According to the minister's announcements, the one-euro meal will now only be accessible to scholarship and non-scholarship students "in a precarious situation".

The price of the meal tray will drop from 1 euro to 3.30 euros

Introduced in July 2019 for scholarship students, the 1 euro meal ticket was generalized in January to all students.

An announcement made by President Emmanuel Macron in a context of a health crisis and growing precariousness.

A device which has met with great success, since since then it "has made it possible to serve 11 million meals in the university restaurants of the CROUS".

From the start of the school year, non-scholarship students, with some exceptions, will no longer be able to claim it.

The price of the meal tray will drop for them from 1 to 3.30 euros.

Information which has not gone unnoticed by the student unions, in particular the Unef Sciences-po, which is indignant at a measure taken "amid general indifference".

However, student precariousness will not stop miraculously at the start of the school year!

Several Internet users were indignant at this measure, while the Delta variant poses uncertainties on the start of the school year and the health situation.

On Twitter, a student denounces "a hunt for the poor", while another argues that "the vote which will formalize the increase of the ticket to 1 € will take place on Monday, in 3 days.

We still have time to mobilize and voice our opposition to this unjust decision.

"

To mobilize, the UNEF launched a petition on the Change.org site intended for the President of the Republic.

Called "No at the end of the meal at 1 euro for everything", it has already collected more than 200 signatures.
