    Participation in the Super Cup is subject to the admission of the clubs to the Lba and their registration to the next Serie A by the Fip. The two finalists of the last edition of the Italian Cup (A | x Armani Exchange Milano and Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro) and the two finalists of the previous season's championship have direct access to the final phase: considering that the second-placed team in the championship, Olimpia Milan, is already winner of the Italian Cup, together with Virtus Segafredo Bologna, champion of Italy, Happy Casa Brindisi, third classified in the championship, is admitted (the best classified team at the end of the regular season between the two defeats in the championship semifinalsThe other 12 teams will take part in the qualifying phase which will be structured in four groups of three teams each with home and away matches. The composition of the groups takes place according to the ranking criterion based on the final classification of the 2020/2021 season, with the exception of the four seeds that already have the right to access the Final Phase.
