Some 739,400 college students were admitted to the patent in 2021, a success rate of 88%, down 2.4 points compared to the previous year, according to provisional results published Monday by the National Education.
In detail, 25% of the candidates obtained the mention very well, 22.4% the mention good, 20.8% fairly well and 19.8% were received without mention.
The general series, which concerns 91% of registrants, shows the highest success rate, with 89% of winners, down 2.4 points compared to 2020.

Among the candidates in the professional series, 78% won the exam, a drop of 3.4 points.

Last year he had been awarded with continuous assessment
The college certificate is the only exam not to have been adjusted this year despite the Covid-19.
The candidates took the written tests in French, mathematics, history-geography, earth sciences and life (SVT) and physics over two days.
The oral test took place between May 3 and the last day of the written tests.
Last year, the pass rate for this exam, awarded only on the marks obtained in the continuous assessment due to Covid-19 and the health restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the virus, had increased by four points to 90.5% .

The patent, whose ancestor (the BEPC) was created in 1947, is a diploma which attests to the knowledge and skills acquired at the end of college, at the end of the third class, according to the title of the Ministry of 'Education.
Passed by adolescents who are mostly 14 or 15 years old, it is therefore shortly before the end of compulsory education (16 years in France).
