(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, 12 JUL - In light of the renewed diffusion of Covid in recent weeks in Israel, the Israeli Ministry of Health today instructed the mutual funds to administer a third dose of Pfizer vaccine to the immunosuppressed.
The aim is to prevent them from becoming infected and developing severe forms of the disease.
A statement from the Ministry of Health specifies that the measure concerns those who have had heart, lung, liver, bone marrow or kidney transplants. The third dose can also be administered to anyone who has been or is still undergoing cancer of various kinds. The optimal period for vaccination with the third dose - according to the ministry - is eight weeks after the second. In any case, he warns, less than four weeks must elapse between the second and third dose. Immunosuppressed, warns the health ministry, must in any case continue to maintain maximum caution. Among other things, they are encouraged to wear protective masks, to observe personal hygiene and to refrain from contact with sick or unvaccinated people. (HANDLE).
