(ANSA) - ORISTANO, 12 JUL - A devastating fire broke out in the countryside of Abbasanta, in the Oristano area, led to the evacuation of a summer camp with 25 children and a scout camp with 48 other people including very young people and personnel, all rescued by the Civil Protection and by the Forestry Corps and away from the area.
The fire developed in Funta Cannas and, due to the wind and heat, it spread to a hilly area.
Three regional and two Canadair helicopters are currently operating on the spot, plus a third arriving from Ciampino, plus the ground teams of the Forestry Corps and firefighters "All have been rescued", reassures the mayor of Abbasanta, Paola Carta , contacted by ANSA.
They are the firefighters who are taking care of transporting the scouts who were safely in the camp in an area of Abbasanta far from the flames. Meanwhile, the Forestry Corps, Civil Defense and other fire brigade teams are working to stem the flames. (HANDLE).
