The British heir to the throne Prince William has condemned racist attacks on English national soccer players after the lost European Championship final.

"I am disgusted by the racist abuse directed at the English players after the game," tweeted Prince William, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.

"It is totally unacceptable that the players should endure this hideous behavior," wrote Prince William.

This must "stop and everyone involved should be held accountable."

The statement about the official account of William and Duchess Kate is signed with the letter "W".

William is also the head of the English football association FA.

Football Association distances itself from insults

It is surprising that Prince William's statement was so clear and decisive.

Most of the time, the British royal family is very cautious.

In March, his brother Harry and his wife Meghan had, among other things, directed racism allegations against the British royal family in an interview with talk show icon Oprah Winfrey.

William had then said on the sidelines of an official event that the British royal family was "in no way racist."

England lost to Italy on penalties late on Sunday evening.

The British missiles, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka, were then racially insulted on social networks.

All three are black.

Among other things, 19-year-old Saka's Instagram posts included insults and monkey emojis.

The FA said about the incidents: "We couldn't make it clearer that anyone behind such disgusting behavior is not welcome as a supporter of our team." support and at the same time urge the toughest possible punishments for everyone who is responsible. "

The London police announced an investigation.
