A young man fell asleep on the weekend in Neumünster in the middle of a train track.
Federal police officers were able to save him from the life-threatening situation.
The 18-year-old was lying early on Saturday morning in the city's train station "with all fours stretched out on the rails," said the federal police in Flensburg on Monday.
The emergency services had the train traffic stopped when the reference to the young man on the platform reached them.
Injury from falling into the track bed
The officers had great difficulty in waking the young man.
When this was successful, he also became aggressive towards his rescuers.
"He didn't know where he was or how he got onto the tracks," the federal police reported.
Since he did not want to be helped, the officers had to handcuff him to pull him onto the platform.
In addition to clear signs of alcohol consumption, the 18-year-old also had a possible leg injury from falling into the track bed.
He was taken to a hospital.
According to the federal police, he was not aware that his life was in danger.
