(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 13 - Covid: Australia, two rigid lockdown residential complexes In Sydney and Melbourne (ANSA-AFP) - SYDNEY, JUL 13 - Two residential complexes in Australia have been placed in rigid lockdown to try to contain new coronavirus outbreaks: agents from today, 24 hours a day, a residential complex in the Bondi district of Sydney and another in Melbourne.
In Sydney, nine people tested positive for the virus, while in Melbourne some workers from Sydney tested positive and all residents were placed in isolation for two weeks.
Meanwhile, 89 new cases of contagion have been registered in Sydney in the last 24 hours.
The city has been in partial lockdown for almost three weeks and the authorities could extend the measure, which expires on Friday.
