The editorial board and the inter-union of Europe 1 protested on Tuesday, in a
press
release, against a
"takeover"
of their antenna by the news channel CNews, whose radio will co-broadcast on Wednesday the special program devoted to July 14 celebrations.

"It was by reading a press release from CNews (...) that the Europe 1 teams learned that a special edition will be offered to listeners of the station on July 14"
, hosted by journalists from the channel of info, reported these organizations, for whom this is further proof of
"the reality of the takeover of the antenna of Europe 1 by CNews"
. Denouncing a total lack of communication from the management of the radio on this co-broadcast, these same organizations (which include the SNJ, CGT, CFTC and FO unions, and the SDR), see it as a
"flagrant demonstration"
that the strategic decisions concerning their radio are now taken
"in the offices of Canal +"
, the parent company of CNews, unlike the insurance companies of the Lagardère group, owner of Europe 1.
This co-broadcast is one of the first illustrations of the synergies that Europe 1 wants to develop with CNews, with whom it now shares the same main shareholder, Vincent Bolloré.
To the chagrin of many employees, who recently organized a historic 5-day strike, voices from Europe 1 will be replaced by personalities from CNews and broadcasts common to the two antennas set up at the start of the school year.
