Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been diagnosed with intestinal obstruction and will be transferred to Sao Paulo where doctors will assess the need for emergency surgery.
This was announced by the Secretariat for Communication of the Presidency of the Brazilian Republic in a note.
Bolsonaro was admitted to the Brasilia Military Hospital at dawn for abdominal pain.
The note does not specify when the transfer will take place.
The diagnosis was made by surgeon Antonio Luiz Macedo, who has been treating the president since he was stabbed at a public demonstration in 2018.
