The accusation: Edeka * discriminates bottle collectors.
Several people caused a real wave of complaints against the supermarket chain, especially on Facebook *.
The controversial sign read in capital letters: "Large quantities of empty bottles 'bottle collectors' are no longer accepted by us and not reimbursed at the cash register!"
Edeka has since commented on the allegations.

Edeka has since commented on the sign, diligently commenting on the allegations in the Facebook posts.
The supermarket chain's official Facebook account usually wrote the following reply comments:
Good morning, we take the criticism very seriously and have contacted the market - the sign in question has already been removed.
We would like to make it clear at this point: Everyone is welcome in our markets.
And of course we welcome the return of deposit bottles everywhere.

The incident seems to have been an unfortunate one-off that Edeka has now eliminated from the world.
Bottle collectors can therefore continue to hand in their deposit in the markets - regardless of the amount collected.
