Donald Trump wanted to "execute" the mole who revealed to the media in June last year that the then president of the United States was taken to the White House bunker during protests in Washington over George Floyd's death. The journalist of the Wall Street Journal, Michael Bender, writes in a new book of which CNN has obtained some advances.
In the book, titled 'Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost', Bender recounts that Trump, the then first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron were taken by the secret services to the underground bunker - where they remained for almost a 'now - as the growing crowd protested outside the gates of the White House.
In the following days, Trump held a meeting with the military, police and his advisers, during which he openly complained about the tip. "Trump went on a boil over the bunker story as soon as they arrived ;; and yelled at them to track down whoever leaked it. Some of his aides had never seen the president so irritated," Bender writes. "'Whoever did it should be charged with treason!' - shouted Trump, according to the book -. 'They should be executed!' ". (HANDLE).
